Having Sylvan doing the show with me the last few months has been pretty sweet. His metal collection is phenomenal and he turns me on to lots of music that I’ve skipped over, been ignorant of or just missed altogether. In the missed altogether category is Deathspell Omega. We’ve played a few tracks on the last couple shows and post-show we’ve cranked out several of the albums and E.P.s on wax. Great shit. Killer riffs and lots of Satan is always a winner with me.

Here’s some Deathspell for you. Enjoy.

SSS Ceremony tonight MDT 9 p.m.-12 a.m.

Time to raise the chalice and drink the blood of the goat later this evening. Sylvan and I will be dressed in our finest robes and naked concubines will lay at our feet as we praise Satan. Music to accompany this feast of evil shall include the new sunnO))), Our Love Will Destroy the World, the new live Maiden “Flight 666″ (courtesy of Dr. Will who sent this to me in the mail—thanks!) and whatever other odes to Lucifer we can find. Join us via the magick of the internet by clicking the KGLT link to the right.

Hail Satan!

Freedom!

My mind felt like it was going to explode while my mom was here. Getting constantly criticized got old for me in 1977. Now that she’s gone I can get back to the rock.

Got sunnO)))-Black One cranking on the system (in stereo, my surround is currently down). A perfect release after over a week of being driven crazy.

Nothing But A Good Face Crushing

Poor Bret Michaels. The Rock of Love icon met his match at the Tony Awards in the form of a large stage prop after Poison’s performance of “Nothing But A Good Time”.

We’ll be seeing this one for the rest of our lives.

When You Least Expect It, Expect It!

Here’s an old one from back in the days of my youth. I think of this song every time some bastard pisses me off.

I Have Yet Only Just Begun to Takeyourfuckinglife!

Something cool I saw at Hell’s Headbangers.

Here’s the details:

This is the original demo tape that got Slayer signed to Def Jam. The recordings are of five tracks that eventually ended up on Reign In Blood. All songs are instrumentals and in most cases even with different parts that did not end up on the album versions. Strictly limited to 666 copies this double 7″ is a must have for fans of Reign in Blood. Three different color covers. Red, Tan and Yellow.

SIDE A:
Criminally Insane
Altar of Sacrifice

SIDE B:
Reborn
Jesus Saves

SIDE C:
Raining Blood

SIDE D:
1986 Live NYC 1986
Praise Of Death

Cool stuff. I hope this is still around when I have some scratch to spend.

Flow Interrupted

My mom is here hanging out with her granddaughter. The usual rocking has been curtailed. Therefore, no Pick of the Week this time. I’ve got a bunch of stuff coming in the next week or so so the jamming should be back in full force sometime next week just in time for the next dose of SSS.

Goodies on the Way

Just ordered a batch of Our Love Will Destroy the World releases.

Broken Spine Fantasia cassette

Cursegoback lathe cut LP

sadnessfinalamen 7″ split with Bark Haze

Goddess of Ten CDR

Can’t wait to blast some suckaz with this load of mayhem!

The Wait is Over

After 20 or so years and a handful of supposed incarnations….Neil Young’s Archives Volume One finally arrives tomorrow. 9 CDs and 1 DVD or all Blu-Ray the set can be bought at once or individually. There are free downloads for the Blu-Ray people and who knows what else.

The CD version is priced semi-reasonably at 99 bucks. Then it goes up to 199 and 299 for DVD and Blu-Ray respectively. It’s all too confusing for me so I’m going to see how it all shakes down. Hopefully I’ll run across it for a cheaper price too.
