Chuck Biscuits is dead is a hoax? I hope so. I’ve been a little busy lately doing some stuff including backpacking in the Pioneers. ![]() Got so caught up with the other shit I neglected to put up my pick for the week. Blessed B sent me some burns and one of them was a gem I hadn’t heard in a long time. Prince’s “Lovesexy”. What the hell ever happened to that guy? His music turned to shit about 20 years ago, great Super Bowl though. Beware. The following may be the scariest album cover of all time. ![]() ![]() Still hooked on ZZ Top. I haven’t listened to this much ZZ in almost 20 years. The cream always rises to the top and the boys from Houston jam hard. I’ve been obsessed with guitar videos on YouTube that feature the solo from La Grange. So, my POTW is Tres Hombres. I still haven’t put it in the collection but that will be rectified shortly. The remastered version from 2006 is the only way to go for CD. The older versions were all fucked with. Here’s the guys ripping it up back in 1980. …sayeth Lovecraft’s “Mad Arab”. Michael Jackson is dead. Or so they say. I saw him in concert at old Cleveland Stadium on the Jackson’s “Victory Tour” in 1984. Fucking horrific. A juggler opened. ![]() Pick O’ the Week. ![]() About six months ago I had a guy call during the 29th minute of a thirtysome minute Acid Mothers Temple jam and say, “It’s like the turd that won’t flush!”. Well mister, you must have some fantastically oversized and pleasantly fragrant shit. I never get sick of AMT. Long tunes, freakout synth, extended drones, wacky Kawabata guitar, I’ll take it all. The last track of Crystal Rainbow Pyramid Under the Stars “Electric Psilocybin Flashback” is the crown jewel of the album. A 30 plus minute freak out with a sax solo, female wailing and a mellow, lengthy outro are the featured menu items. A little psilocybin probably helps digest the music a little better too but I think my brain makes that on it’s own. Nah. Bad timing though. And probably not the best way to get your message across. I have a buddy who told me about this “Burn” stuff. Apparently, they organize non-stop music, arts, dancing etc. in the name of Jesus. My friend is holding down the 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. slot during the next burn in Bozeman which starts April 3rd at 6 p.m. and ends 6 p.m. the next day at the Senior Center. He plans on working towards more experimental sets as he gets into doing more burns. Sounds cool to me. SSS supports Jesus in music too. A couple of my favorite Jesus albums are Glass Harp’s self-titled one and Black Sabbath-Master of Reality. |
