While bouncing around the internet yesterday I stumbled upon a righteous enclave of metal. Ron Blackwell’s Sudden Death Overtime on WITR 89.7FM out of Rochester, New York. Metal every weekday at 7-9 a.m. EST and also available as a podcast for a 2 hour fix of metal anytime.

You can also check out Ragin’ Ron’s band Crucifist. The metalheads amongst you may recognize the gentleman on bass.

One of my favorite bands–Midnight–is touring Europe soon. The picture disc for the tour is available at Nuclear War Now. Buy it if you’re not a pussy.

I’ve been cranking the shit out of some old Dissection lately. Slasher Sylvan turned me on the the first two albums (Yeah, I know. Everyone has been listening to those albums for years. Call me slow). Fucking great shit and lots of killer guitar work. Just stay away from the last album Reinkaos unless you like that Swedish melodic death shit.

Heading out later to do the show. Slasher Sylvan will be joining me and he’s packing a bunch of new additions to his metal collection. I’m looking forward to hearing what he’s got planned. Also, something off Fork in the Road (OMG, TTYL, LOL, STFU!!! :P:P:P:P—satan/death and Neil Young again!!!! 8=====D~!), some new Bob, and some other goodies.

FYI, the picture above is of the remodeled studio. The one I use for the banner is the old board in the old setting. I loved that old, beater board. Alas, maintenance for it became impossible due to the availability of the parts so on to the new. The new one isn’t half bad either.

Mark Kozelek has a new live release due on May 12th titled “Lost Verses Live”. It contains version of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters songs. Also, starting April 1st if you order directly from Caldo Verde Records you will get a free live disc “Find Me Ruben Olivares/Live in Spain”. Not a bad deal at all.
