Got my kid hooked on this song by singing it to her while brushing her teeth. I played it on the surround today and she yelled out “Kiss!”. When I was a little kid I was all about Kiss. In 76′ at age 5 I asked my dad to buy me the Destroyer LP in a Mentor, Ohio Gold Circle. She’s right on track.

One more day until Iron Maiden announce their North American tour dates. I’m super psyched and hope I get a chance to see them. Some friends of mine saw them in Christchurch a year ago and Maiden kicked total ass. I’ve seen them three times, 1986 Somewhere On Tour, 1996 X-Factor tour and the 1999 Ed Hunter Tour aka the return of Bruce.

I remember reading the Billings Gazette one time back in 1996 and the article was about an old theater in Cody, Wyoming. The paper asked the theater owner if he had ever had dealt with a pain in the ass (my words, not theirs). He said everyone was cool but Emmylou Harris. Not sure what the story was there but I can believe it. Something about her makes me think that she doesn’t put up with any bullshit.

Picked up her best of Heartaches and Highways at the library. Lotsa good stuff.

This Locrian Drenched Lands cassette is killer. As a matter of fact, I just flipped it over to jam it again. Highly recommended and you could/should pick up the CD at Small Doses. Not sure if the cassette version is around anywhere right now.

Just received the latest Ocrilim offering from Mr. Mick Barr (best known as the kick ass guitarist in Krallice). Three albums forming a trilogy. Ixoltion, Sacreth and Hymns. Did a quick scan and each one is different. I’m going to rock the shit out of these tomorrow. Pick up one of these handmade CDR sets from Mick at the Ocrilim myspace if you want one. Info is in the blog. He’s only making them until he gets bored and moves on to something else so don’t hesitate.

I’m beyond impatient. Auburn Records was supposed to reissue the album this Cleveland metal band did a long time ago.

When I was a kid and I saw this record I would always laugh. Black people doing metal??? But damn, these guys did metal well. I’m going to find out what the deal is on this reissue.
