Soothing Soul Suckers

I haven’t been spending a lot of time on the computer lately. Too much bullshit on there for me. Everyone has an opinion on things that don’t even matter to them. Millions of people dumping virtual waste for all to see. I’m cashing out of that game.

Got the recent playlists up and a couple audio files of the show. The computer at the station is ghetto so I haven’t been able to copy the show as often as I would like. I’ve been entertaining myself by making playlists on YouTube. Check them out here if you dare. They are by no means definitive takes on anything. Feel free to recommend songs to add.

SSS tonight at 9 p.m. MST. Haven’t organized the show yet but this Les Rallizes track that just ended on my stereo just lit the freakin’ house on fire. I think it’s going to make tonight’s cut. Not sure what else except for the usual 11 o’clock call to arms. Any ideas or suggestions can be left in the comments. I’ll see what I can do.

While bouncing around the internet yesterday I stumbled upon a righteous enclave of metal. Ron Blackwell’s Sudden Death Overtime on WITR 89.7FM out of Rochester, New York. Metal every weekday at 7-9 a.m. EST and also available as a podcast for a 2 hour fix of metal anytime.

One of my usual stops in interwebz land has morphed into something new and more powerful.

For the uninitiated and unaware, HSS is a place I hold in high regard for info about drone, noise, metal and all sorts of kick ass music and associated art.

Also, HSS music label Deathsmile Records is about to fire up the engine and start releasing some bad ass shit. Starting with doom/sludge band Vault Dweller from Oregon.

It’s been a while.

But it’s time to fire up the SSS engine again. A long layoff, a brief return followed by another shorter layoff. Sometimes a break is needed to reload the music machine gun. I’m ready to rock now.

Woke up with this in my head for some reason.

Possibly because I was having dreams about people from way back. Regardless of the reason….it’s fuckin’ Maiden. NEVER a bad way to start the day.
